No. Eco-Gear automatically switches to Gaming mode when any DirectX or Vulkan application is launched and restores full CPU and GPU performance. Manual override is also available in settings.

Currently Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) only. A Linux build is in development — follow GitHub for updates. macOS support is not planned due to Power Management API restrictions.

No. Eco-Gear runs entirely offline. It makes no network requests, collects no analytics, and sends nothing anywhere. All data stays on your PC only.

The app uses the Windows Power Management API (PowerSetActiveScheme, SetThreadCharacteristics), dynamically changes ACPI P-States, suspends unused background services, and reduces display refresh rate to 30 Hz when idle.

Eco-Gear is fully open source (MIT). You can build it from source yourself. Official releases are signed with a developer certificate — Windows SmartScreen will not warn after the first install.
